The Coal City School Board this week discussed a proposal from SolarUp regarding a potential solar energy project within the district.

Superintendent Kent Bugg explains the details.

He said companies have approached the board about other solar projects in the past, but they were not in favor of the idea.

As action coming out of closed session, the board approved the hiring of three full-time custodial positions to accommodate for long term medical leaves and pending retirements.
