One person was arrested after a three vehicle crash that occurred in Morris at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26th.
The Morris Police Department said a vehicle driven by Thomas Borchelt, 47, of Coal City was traveling in the wrong way on East Jefferson Street and crossed over onto Route 47 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Jose Figueroa of Coal City, who was southbound on Route 47.
The collision forced Borchelt’s vehicle to strike a tree at the intersection and then bounce back on Route 47. At that time, a vehicle driven by Brandi Kluck of Wilmington, who was heading southbound on Route 47, collided with Figueroa’s vehicle.
No injuries were reported, but Figueroa told police he was going to the hospital on his accord to be checked out. Meanwhile, police officials say there were open and unopened beer cans in Borchelt’s vehicle.
Borchelt was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage-one way street and failing to yield at an intersection.
