The Coal City Police Department arrested a man for allegedly stealing a vehicle around 5 p.m. on January 17th.
Police officials say Ryan Tidwell, 25, of Coal City allegedly stole a vehicle from a residence in the 300 block of North Second Avenue and also tried burglarizing a vehicle in that same area.
After the incident, Tidwell was pulled over by the Coal City Police Department after they received a complaint regarding the alleged vehicle burglary attempt.
During the stop, Tidwell took off and fled the police, but eventually crashed the vehicle in the area of North Fourth Avenue and East Fourth Street. Tidwell was checked out by Coal City EMS, but refused treatment.
He was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police. He remains in the Grundy County Jail.
