Several taxing bodies in Morris will be reimbursed following the approval of two ordinances by the city council on Monday.
Morris Mayor Dick Kopczick said the money reimbursed comes from the two Tax Increment Finance Districts the city has.
A TIF District is a tool used by municipalities in accordance to state statute to spur redevelopment activity in a defined area. He spoke about TIF 1.
Kopczick said the 40 percent the three school districts will be splitting equals to $2.11 million. He said the remaining 10 percent equals to $528,000.
He also explained details of the Marina TIF district.
The amount in the Marina TIF District was $4,750.
