A Cook County man with extensive criminal history is back in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Marcus Williams, 50, of Chicago pled guilty in Grundy County to Obstructing Justice, a class four felony and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The sentence will run consecutively with a three year sentence in Will County where Williams pled guilty to Identity Theft, a class three felony.

In May of 2018, Williams was arrested by the Morris Police Department after scamming a business in the 2,600 block of Sycamore Drive.

Dating back to 1996, Williams has prior prison terms for drug offenses, Aggravated Battery using a deadly weapon, using a forged debit/credit card and three convictions for Identity Theft.
