One person was killed in a two vehicle accident that occurred in Minooka around 8:35 a.m. on Saturday, July 13th.

Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said witnesses indicated that Tyler Dufour, 22, of Channahon was operating his motorcycle north on Ridge Road when he struck a vehicle pulling out onto Ridge Road from Prairie View Drive after passing a semi-truck traveling north.

Dufour died due to his injuries sustained from the incident. No arrests or citations have been issued. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the reconstruction of the crash.

Dufour had served as a Community Service Officer with the Plainfield Police Department for the last two years.

According to the Plainfield Police Department Facebook page, they said Dufour brought a great work ethic, high levels of energy, and a smile into all his duties and responsibilities.
