A Channahon man could spend time in prison for beating two individuals in Grundy County. Shaun Cailey entered into a blind guilty on the charge of Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm, a class three felony and battery, a class A misdemeanor.
The 32-year-old Cailey could receive probation as well as conditional discharge or a prison term anywhere from two to five years. Prosecutors say Cailey threw a man to the ground causing two facial fractures at a liquor establishment along Route 47 in Morris in March of 2019.
He was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department on that charge in January of 2020. Prosecutors also say Cailey battered another individual during a fight that occurred in Morris in July of 2019. Cailey will be sentenced by Grundy County Judge Sheldon Sobol during a sentencing hearing on May 28th.
Cailey also had pending case out of LaSalle County where he has been charged with non-consensual dissemination of a private sexual image, otherwise known as revenge porn, a class four felony. Cailey was indicted on that charge in October of 2020. Cailey remains in the Grundy County Jail on a $7,575 bond.
Cailey was sentenced to two years in prison for domestic battery in 2013 and 30 months for domestic battery in 2015. All those convictions were in Grundy County.
