A Will County man will have his court case determined by a Grundy County Judge. Shaun Cailey, 31, of Channahon has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery, both class three felonies.

Cailey allegedly threw a man to the ground causing a facial fracture at a liquor establishment along Route 47 in Morris in March of 2019. He was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department on that charge in January of 2020.

Cailey has pleaded not guilty and elected to have a bench trial which is set for September 17 and 18th in front of Grundy County Judge Rob Marsaglia.

Cailey was sentenced to three years in prison for Aggravated Battery in 2007, two years for domestic battery in 2013 and 30 months for domestic battery in 2015. All those convictions were in Grundy County. Cailey remains free on bond.
