The city of Morris will be spending around $1 million for repairs at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The city council on Monday approved the low bid from Mechanical Incorporated from Freeport, Illinois to install a screw press at the plant. Morris Mayor Dick Kopczick has more details.

He also said the council approved a $148,000 bid from Layne Christenson Company for repairs to Well #5 in the city of Morris.

The council also approved an easement agreement for the installation of a sanitary sewer at Route 6 and Locust Road and the installation of fire alarm systems at the East and Central Public Work facilities.
