The 2020 Grundy County Corn Festival has been officially been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Corn Fest Committee President John Sparrow spoke to WCSJ about the decision.
The Corn Fest Committee said the Illinois Department of Public Health currently has not published their festival and parade guidelines, the state’s inspectors for carnivals are not doing inspections, and there is a possibility that they cannot obtain necessary permits/licenses for this year.
Sparrow said they will be stronger and better next year.
