New COVID-19 cases in Kendall County were down this week compared to last week, according to numbers released by the Kendall County Health Department. Kendall County's weekly total of new cases this week was at 294 compared to last week's 449 new cases. There have been 15,844 cases in the county and 14,832 cases considered to be in recovery.

The City of Plano has received its first of two installments of American Rescue Plan funds from the federal government. The money is meant to help government bodies recover from losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Mike Rennels announced that the city had received the funds during Monday's city council meeting.

Yorkville police are charging 21-year-old Chanson J. South, of Markham, with burglary in connection to a smash and grab burglary in Yorkville earlier this year. On January 20, police allege that South, and several other subjects, broke into the Yorkville Target store in the 1600 block of N. Beecher Road.
